Ceramics
After the Eaton Fire in January 2025, I enrolled in a ceramics course at a pottery studio directly across from my own in Monrovia. It has been nothing short of a lifeline—both a healing experience and an education—and marks the beginning of what I hope will be a long and exciting journey.
I've long been captivated by the history and form of pottery, from English Slipware and 18C Meissen porcelain to the work of Lucie Rie and contemporary artists like Bari Ziperstein.
Clay and glaze have a life of their own, and as with all of my work, I try to listen closely to both myself, and to what the material wants to say—so we can shape something together.
These are the first pieces I feel truly ready to share.
